use tongs or something, dont reach into the boiling water to retrieve anything.
also, to prevent future episodes: even though its sterile, dont drink boiling water. let it cool first.

Actually it was non shroom related.
My friend was making some ramen one day and asked if I could pour the water for him. Completely zoned out, i started pouring, and the rest is history. I felt no immediate pain, just a slight tingle. The next day sucked

It's amazing to see how the human body heals itself over time, and how resilient it is to damage. I was under the impression that this was caused by opening a pressurized pressure cooker... Don't do it! Be safe.
