first casing, three simple questions

dear shroom gods, how long should i wait after my cow poo and straw substraight is colinised before i case it? also i found this stuff called garden lime is that the right stuff to use in my mixture?
it says ANALYSIS: Calcium (Ca) as calcium carbonate 32% Neutralising value 76%
also i couldnt find crushed oyster shell any where can i leave that out?

it has to be 100% colonized before you can case you dont have to case cubensis though
also just use gypsum instead of lime or oystershells

Gypsum and lime have different uses in casing. Gypsum for nutes and ph-buffer, lime for raising ph.

Case your sub after full colonization and a consolidation period, I wait a long time, I find the longer I wait the better the flushes are,
Yes, garden Lime is the correct lime, and no you do not need oyster shells.

Shouldn't it be calcium hydroxide instead of calcium carbonate? I tought that calsium carbonate only works as a buffer and slow ph increase.

cheers guys i just used both gypsum and gardan lime, microwaved for 5 mins, then stired, then 5 more mins in microwave
its been about 2 days with the top fully colonised. Should i leave it for a few more days or do i have to case as soon as the mixture cools down?
