Spawned the grain to filled capacity verm, Does that usually make it take longer to pin than say a coir substrate? Its been 6 days and no knots, pins nothing just a few lil bumps.

I'm kind of confused what was your spawn to substrate ratio. I don't think verm is a very good substrate alone it can be a casing layer. Need a lot more information on exactly what you did to get where your at.
It might work well if you used a low spawn to substrate ratio, but you'd have to allow it to colonize before you expect it to start pinning.
Picture would be great.

Pinning takes 1 to 2 weeks. Did u do a casing? With tray? Or a solid block like cake? Never heard anyone spawn to verm. Due to little or no nutrients. Pinning is the same for anything .

6 days is pretty soon. Let it colonize and fruit like any other substrate.

Mixing grain spawn with verm is a fine way to fruit it. The mycellium has all the nutes it needs from the grain. The OP is not using the verm as a 'substrate', but it acts as a casing layer. The make-up of the final sub is really not much different than the basic PF tek. Tao

Actually, verm is a bulk substrate material and provides plenty of 'nutes' for the mycelium. Mushrooms are interesting creatures. They 'eat' and digest minerals much like us mammals and need them for best performance. This is why we add gypsum to substrates and get a huge boost in yields from it. Verm works much the same way.
