I've waited up to a week there's no set amount of time but you should do it as soon as possible because sterilization is a relative term and the longer you wait the higher chance of contams you'll have as well as possible drying out.

I knocked up jarsa that I PCed 3 weeks ago. They just started showing growth 3 days after inoculation. I knocked up jars today that I PCed on the 17th of july.
Soooo, jars can last indefinately. Use asap for best results, but if theres no mold, theyre sterile and youre good to go.

Yes. Jars or bags that go uninoculated will become infected or dry out, which ever comes first. Before you even begin your grains, prioritize your time so that you will have plenty of it to inoculate your grains right away. Do not procrastinate. Jars/bags take about 2 months to dry out. You can't predict when the contaminates come. HL
P.S. Btw, It's good to see you posting about again, Mycjunky. Now if we could just get biologys to come back.
