Some advice, what would you guys do?

I knocked up a bunch of quart jars a couple of weeks ago. They all took off at the same time, they were all ready for their first shake within 1 day of each other then, it's like the slower ones over took the quicker ones and the ones that started colonizing the fastest are stalling. The pic bellow shows two such jars the one that's almost fully colonized was way behind the one next to it. Now out of 10 jars 3 or 4 are really ready to go and the others have really slowed down.
I took the fastest and did a G2G transfer with it so I don't have to worry about that one right now. My question is what do you guys do when you have jars so staggered? I had planned on doing just 2 monotubs, 5 jars of spawn each but I'm not sure if I can wait for the slower ones to catch up.
Also the 3 0r 4 jars that are ready are from 2 different strains so I dont want them in a tub together. Thanks.

Your picture is not clear, but the jar on the right looks kinda funky. Does it smell alright?

They look good. Here's a better pic with some of the other slow pokes.

You might have shaken too vigorously / early in the jars that stalled. I would wait it out. Knock up some more jars in the mean time.

This sounds possible.
I have some prints I could use to knock up a few more jars but if I use any more of these jars for transfers it will really change my original plan.

The grains in those jars look slimey. It is likely bacterial contamination. That's why I asked if they smell. What filter are you using?

I can't smell anything through the filter and I don't want to open them. The one I cracked for the transfer smelled like sweet fresh mushie goodness but it was like 90-95% colonized. I'm using pieces of those filters you buy at the on-line myco shops, here's a pic of the lids I made.

I Wait. You're gonna have to wait. Why are you not sure if you can wait?

The moisture content of those jars is too high.

Synthetic filter disks. Your lids look nice. The one thing I would question is those coffee filters over you lids cutting off GE and moisture evaporation. Synthetic filter disks are plenty of filter to protect your spawn against contaminates. HL

That's the sign of wetspot/bacteria/bacillus however you want to call it.

I can wait but the jars that are at 100% need to go into fruiting now don't they?

Think I should get rid of them?
I'll lose the coffee filters on all the jars now.

Spawn to bulk or case the jars that are fully colonized, now. I am sorry but those other jars are over, toss them. Next time loose the coffee filters. Synthetic filter disks alone work great and are ideal for filtered GE. HL

I looked at all the jars again very close. OK so I guess they don't all look so good. There is definitely signs of moisture in most of the jars. 1 or 2 jars have a very very small amount of yellowish liquid in the bottom of the jar.
I have some jars that are fully colonized so I should be able to spawn those. Not sure how my transfer will work out but I have that.
This is my 2nd grow and my 1st rye grow, I'd like to know where I went wrong.

The only other point of concern would be in your grain preparation method. What provisions for grain preparation did you take?

Another advice though, be patient and dont G2G 90-95% jars. Wait till full colonization. I'm not saying that it won't work, but your chances are 50/50. Just wait out that extra day or two next time.

It was either grain prep/not waiting full colonization/filtration (wet filter) issue.

I took 10 cups of rye, rinsed about 4 times till the water was clear, mixed in a tbspn of Gypsum, soaked for 24hrs. Boiled for 10min, strained very well as they were steaming. Before they went in the jars I tested them for dryness by putting a few tbspns on toilet tissue for 15 seconds I then removed the grains and the tissue was bone dry. I watched RR's "5 steps to perfect grain spawn" video.

Thanks for the advice. Boy there is so much info on this site some of it conflicts and I know some of it is pretty dated so sometimes it's difficult to discern which info to follow.
I read somewhere, I thought it was RR that with grain jars you don't necessarily wait till 100% colonization but just slightly under when the myc is in it's peak growth phase. Now I may have read all that completely wrong or just totally imagined it. lol
My filters didn't seem wet but I'm not certain. I definitely may have shook too soon. I tried to shake once at my best estimate of about 15% and again at what I thought was about 70%.
Interesting note, some jars did make it to full colonization.

I searched it for ya'!

If you g2g with uncolonized grains, those uncolonized kernels might sit for another two weeks in the receiving jar before the mycelium gets to them, thus they're outside their window, and more likely to contaminate.
Let the jars fully colonize. Being in a hurry never benefits mycology. RR
