I usually get dark prints on foil but as long as you see a print then theres spores.

Perhaps the caps were open too long before printing?

I let my prints dry for 48 hours after removing the caps.

IME this can happen when you do prints without allowing moisture to escape.  When I print smaller caps, I use petri dish bottoms and they're light enough to allow gas exchange underneath.  With bigger/taller caps I've used things like jars which are heavier, and seem to trap more moisture inside.  Those prints tend to be light.

If you're putting spores from prints straight into a syringe, then there's no need to dehydrate them at all AFAIK.  Letting the prints dry before sealing them up is only needed when you're going to store them longer-term, or trade them, etc.
