Beginner Wallpaper
    #1300747 - 02/11/03 07:42 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

I just made this today.  It's pretty generic, as I have just started to mess with photoshop.  I am also using this as a test to see if my free picture hosting website is working.  Anybody got any tips on how to make the colorful stars look 3d, or like they are receding into the distance.  I had to settle with a shadow :frown:

You know what that reminds me of? It looks like you're inside someones bloodstream, and each of those star things is a virus. Dunno, if that was the intent. Looks good though.

Yeah, the bloodstream....thats what I was thinking

Is the pic loading really slow for you guys?  Its on a free host, they give you 25mb, which is a lot more than my old 1mb account I had.  Stumpling, you've got some of the best work on these boards, thanks for the comment.

slime_r, select the layer that the star thingys are on. at the bottom of the layer window palette, there will be a button that has a dark circle with an f in it. click on that and a menu pops up, it will give you a list of things.Choose 'Bevel and Emboss'. it will bring up a window and by messing with those things you can make them look more 3d-ish. you could also make a quick mask and airbrush over top to add dimension. search the photoshop help for 'layer effects' and 'quick mask' if you need more help.
