are food dehydrators a fire hazard?
    #13002915 - 08/04/10 05:49 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

i just want to verify with you guys that my food dehydrator isnt a fire hazard. i have a nevco.  it is on the floor with the top and bottom vents partially opened. i dont have a fan pointed toward it.  i leave it running all day, mostly unattended, and take shrooms in and out of it every 24 hours.

i know a lot of you use food dehydrators, so it would ease my mind to know that someone has a similar setup to mine, has had it for a while, and hasnt set their house on fire...

thanks

Hard surface? Not carpet?

Anything that's plugged into an electrical source can potentially be a fire hazrd. A food dehydrator should be on a hard surface with plenty of space around it for the air to be able to vent.
