Shroomery leadership

I'd like to know more about who runs this place and how are decisions made. I see people become mods & admins and that people go (like recently Anno), but nobody explains anything to simple shroomers, like me. It seems like some misterious force is driving this place and besides some occasional gossip I know absolutely nothing about it. I know that mods and admins do a great job in keeping this place going but a little more information wouldn't hurt. Would someone explain who or what our government is and how it works? How would you define this system: anarchy, democracy, dictatorship or "cosa nostra"

There is a sticky thread in OTD by Thor that will answer some of your questions.

Oh, yes! Thanx. I see I have to go to OTD more often. I thought that is dangerous to go there alone...

OK - I turned it into a joke.
But now seriously! SHROOMERY NEEDS DEMOCRACY! You should explain to the public your decisions and what's going on in general. That would stop rumors and general feeling that there is something wrong here.

Ok. I?ve been working hard -- burning the midnight oil -- and I have finally completed the new "Gridlock" PHP Class. This will replace the standard mySQL access class, used by this board software, under PHP, and will result in a total egalitarian implementation of the democratic ideal!
Here?s how it works: Once I install the new class, all mySQL calls will go through a routine that instantly creates a pop-up polling window, for all registered users who are currently on-line, to approve any new posts. This will result in a totally flat, horizontal, egalitarian, and fair, system for approving all new posts. No new posts, edits, or deletes, will be recorded and published until everyone has voted on it!
Now, this will grind the board to a halt, but on the bright side, we will have no more need for Mods or Admins, and everyone will always be in the loop, and ultimately responsible for the content of this board. Based on my estimates, of board popularity posting times will very -- depending on how many people need to approve. I am showing peak board times at around 3:00pm EST to require 1.25 hours between submitting a post and final approval. This will also slow down the OTD, which will be an added plus for several of our members. The night owls will have the clear speed advantage with only an estimated marginal delay, between time of post and time of publish, of 22.5 minutes.
The new code gets installed at 12:00am PST, on February, 14th, 2003, so be ready and happy Valentine?s Day (or is it April 1st)!

You forgot one thing - everybody should be able to ban anybody. But there should be also a limit - only one ban per 5 minutes.

that is ok. but money makes the world go around. a couple years ago when I was pissed off on thor, and I was wrong. Cause, if there was no Thork (:)) this place would never percieve this quality it has now. shroomery is great site, and we have to thank thor for that. becasue he is a great manager and managment is very good thing if you want good production.

I know that admins are doing a great job here. I just noticed a lot of negative energy around here lately and I thought that better informing would help.
