Growkit problems
    #1299646 - 02/11/03 11:41 AM (13 years, 9 months ago)

I recently bought a growkit and thought i was having success with it as mushrooms seemed to be starting to grow on the top. however yesterday i turned it over and saw that the bottom of the growkit which was still in the clear plastic container had started pinning and there was a lot more growth than on the top.

should i take the kit out of the container and turn it upside down so that the side whicih is growiung more quickly will be able to grow.

Also should i take it out of the CO2 bag it is currently in and put in a better terrarium?

thanks

the growkit instructions said to put an inch of water in the bottom of the co2 so that it gets humid enough.

if i had to put the kit on its side one side would be completely saturated by the water.is there anyway round this?

get a tray to put it on clean the tray well and flip the cake out onto it upside down so the pins at the bottom can grow up.Do you have a fish tank or rubbermaid to keep the humiderty up?i.e what is it in now?

the kit came with a co2 bag which is just a plastic bag with an air filter on the side. ive still got it in this now. the humidity seems quite high., there is condensation cpovering the sides of the bag.

i have a big propagator and a bag of perlite so should i transfer it into this?

at the moment i have taken the kit out of the plastic tray and turned it on its side.the problem with putting it totally upside down is the top side is just starting to pin .

sorry i dont have a digi cam so now pics

Sounds like it will go ok  as long as its in something the bag will do fine as it has a better filter than the propergator so leave it there. So its pinning on the side top and bottom?lucky you lol
Good luck mate.

Yep move em into something bigger but if there just growing against the sides and top of the fruiting chamber there in its said this wont hurt them.i havent tryed this myself but the person i heard saying it knows his stuff.Or are you saying the container they came in is what its still in and its this thats cramping them?if so then move them onto some sort of small tray then into the bigger container.
Good luck
