I'm real into psychological thrillers instead of overt horror movies, i would suggest watching Donnie Darko, Jacob's Ladder, the lost highway, and U-turn.....

Agreed.  Disney's releasing 3 more titles from this director in mid-April.  Including my all-time favourite animation (and in my top 3 adventure movies, period) Castle In The Sky.
Definitely check that bad boy out!
Back on topic, horror movies that I've tripped out to with good results include:
Blair Witch Project (opening night on 1/8, I thought I died at the end)
Psycho (original)
Perfect Blue (anime, and a total mindf*ck)
Night of the Living Dead (original)
and I can't believe nobody's mentioned:
Frailty.
That movie is noots, with phenomenal scenery, and some good jumps.
And while it doesn't really qualify as a horror movie, Brazil is dark and lovely, a great future noir in the tradition of Blade Runner, crossed with 1984.

Brazil was a fairly trippy movie, but too dark, industrial and depressing for me (speaking of the origional version and not the edited for TV version.) Im not really into non-narritives like Brazil (I guess from just being brought up in western film culture.) It was a little too shifty and vague for me, I could just imagine trying to watch it on a drug.
My favorite movie so far on a psychadelic is What dreams may come with Robin Williams. Very deep and gives thought provoking ideas about the afterlife and strong relationships with family (you may just even cry like a baby ). Also very colorful and nice scenery. I'll have to go with Lord of the Rings also. You just can't beat fantacy at that level of accuracy and detail.

dud3, you are all forgetting the best one.... "The Exorcist" the version you've never seen... especially when she does the spider walk down the stairs and masturbates with the crucifix, and who can forget the crazy face appearing in the shadows... it's like a crack monkey or something.... but if you want a good laugh... watch sleepy hollow... i went on 6 hits of gel and i could not stop laughing... keep an eye out for the scene when christopher walken has the horse buck and turn around and there's lightning behind him and he shows his fucked up teeth... that's some funny shit.

The Shining and Rosemary's Baby are awesome.

I watched Se7en once, while on 5 hits of acid. Definitely not for the faint of heart :P

The Ring was fucken scary when I watched it sober. Don't know what it'll do while tripping. Watching horror in a trip doesn't sound like a positive experience..
