If your network admin is competent and has administrative access to your work PC, then there's no assurance of privacy no matter how stealthy you are. So be warned. But you could try using ItsHidden or Your Freedom in HTTPS mode, and setting your browser to clear its history when closed. That would thwart most casual monitoring attempts. It really depends on where you work and how good your IT department is though.
My personal recommendation is, if you are a good employee and meet all performance expectations, then browse whatever the fuck you want and don't worry about it. Of course, that kind of attitude might also be why I have trouble in a corporate environment. But it's much less stressful.

If it is their computer, and their network, you should assume no privacy.
If you think it might get you in trouble, just wait till you get home. They may or may not see it, and if they do, they may or may not care.
I just like to leave my professional and recreational lives separate, especially when it comes to drugs. Never expect anyone to give you the benefit of the doubt, you are manufacturing drugs if you read the shroomery political forum.

you know these responses are kind of annoying to me. i know it's a sensitive issue which is why i asked, and which is why i'll probably leave my shroomery addiction at home. HOWEVER, it gets under my skin that it's totally kosher for employees to facebook and twitter and IM to their hearts content all day long, but how DARE i even consider browsing a forum on psychedelics.
years back there was another forum i was on and they had a proxy site set up so it showed up as something else in your web history, something more benign than the site name suggested.

Invest in a smart phone and browse the shroomery on that.
You can pay for the smart phone with the money you make from the job you didn't get canned from for looking at a drug web site on the company's dime.

Never browse anything at work that you don't want to talk about. If you have the kind of boss and the kind of job where you could go in the office and talk about dry smashing, or STB, then fine. Or if you have a job where researching psychedelics is just another day at the office.
But you don't, or you wouldn't be asking.

idk where you're working but this is unheard of most corporations. if your IT guy knows what he's doing you shouldn't be able to get on facebook or twitter lol
