    #1296475 - 02/10/03 11:02 AM (21 years, 1 month ago)

stopping by the local goodwill store, i saw a few wide mouth tappered Ker (think thats what the brand is called. but im sure about the wide mouth tappered part) jars. will they work? there is an ever so slight incline. a simple yes or no would be great. thanks (they cost like $2.00 for 5 of 'em)

I just got some from the goodwill today! Plenty of quart jars and a few pint (not widemouth). If your working with any kind of grains they will be fine, keep in mind you can use tapered glasses for the pftek, just use some gumbands and put some kind of filter on it as a lid.

no...I wouldn't do...they won't work. You'll have to handle, rip, cut and play with your jars to much to get the cakes out.

whats wrong with tapered? I thought the ones you werent supposed to use are the ones with shoulders. I have tapered jars, and the Top is slightly wider then the bottom, and cakes still slide out fine.
