I was thinking more like how much wattage they like. I know they kind of like the areas w/less light.

I used a black light for a batch of PF strain cakes a few years ago and it seemed to increase the number of abhorts that formed on the cakes. Has anyone else tried this and noticed a difference in fruiting, or was I just doing something wrong?

Edit-- Actually I forgot about something, I read on PF teks website that they started using black lights and it caused mutations ie. (albino strain), and eventually they had to start over with new lights & spores because their strain was getting weak. Is that true?

No, I tried doing it before PF came out with the albino strain. I didn't like the results so I switched back to fluorescent. I tried growing the albino's when they were available and I wasn't impressed by them - and if I would have known they were mutants, I wouldn't have cultivated them in the first place!
