Hey Explorer.... just browsing your gallery. Liking the photo of the amanita without the white warts I took a pic of one like that last year.... they look amazing. Also great lib haul.... your field/s seem to produce ALOT. What part of the UK you in?

Just checked metcheck and it looks as if the weather is gonna remain this warm for the next couple of weeks.
Don't hold much hope for finding anything before mid-september around here (Bristol / Somerset) for the time being.

Good, if I'm hunting libs I prefer it to be sunny.

No way! Hunting Libs is best on the most dismal, low cloud days there are. Nothing more relaxing than being alone in a field in the middle of nowhere. A few pre-rolled joints and Kaya on the headphones= total bliss. So nice to get something beautiful from a horrible day! I am a miserable son of a gun though...

Just I have a great patch that seems not to care what goes on outside of that valley or even very much about sun and rain per se (it gets continual heavy dew), and I don't like clutching wet mushrooms or camera or phone or lighter or smokes or walking into a windy downpour as much as I like a sunny day, and the farmer is cool with me, so my comment was just a lead-in to this bit of showing-off. I have scoured the surrounding valleys and found very little.

How did you make the farmer cool with you? "hey can I pick mushrooms off your field?"

He came up to check on the fields, and because I am right there a lot I thought I would walk over and grab a few Hygrocybes on the way. And while I was waxcapping lyrical and talking about Panaeoluses (Panaeoli?) and a few local edible species my bumbag was wide open with a gazillion libs in there that I don't think he could have missed, but he is either very savvy or very trusting. When I briefly alluded to "the little liberty caps of course" I couldn't gauge a reaction. Either way the end result is we get on nicely.

yeah i think i'd probably rather hunt on a dismal day aswell, theres something good about being out mooching around the fields in the filth and wet. Its refreshing, and speaking about farmers knowing your at your spots and stuff, we were picking in a field and a farmer stopped in his tractor and asked my friend what he was doing, my friend said that were looking for mushrooms and the farmer was like "do they make you go mad then" and my friend said they weren't really like that, the farmer said "maybe i should try some" and left haha.
