I think its still a bit too warm down here atm Steve... Hovering around the low 20's in the day not sure about night time temps. I went out earlier for a walk to a nearby forest to look for inactives and found a few but its still very early. Cant wait though

the temps here the same. A good gauge for me when they get cracking is when the hoody or jacket has to be worn, then its more or less gathering than hunting.

still nothing in the midlands. after 3 days of rain and coolish temps of around 15 degrees in the day, i went for a look on a local sheep grazed hill. i saw a few dried up tiny pans but after looking around for about 10 minutes and only seeing those, i decided that even if i did find a lib i wouldn't be able to find enough for a trip. so i left. i guess its just not cold enough yet.
next week i am going up to the lake district for a few days, is anyone having any luck up there?

To the person that asked what happened when i got stopped by police with 2500 shrooms, there was a bloke copper and a female copper, we had them in like 4 or 5 different carrier bags, they searched the car, looked astounded at how many of these mushrooms we had but confused over what they were, i dont think he knew for sure what they were so he didnt say anything in fear of looking stupid, he emptied them out at the side of the road and crushed them with his feet. He said if we came back to get any of them we would be arrested, he said we could be done for stealing "vegetables" off private property, he also said my mates car was now "marked" as having been involved in the incident. He found my mates girlfriends nickers in the side of the drivers door and pulled them out, hahaha and before they left the female copper was looking in the boot of the cop car and the bloke brought the boot door down, accidentally smacking her on the top of the head and causing great pain, it was very funny. We were all so gutted that we lost the mushrooms though, and that we can't go back. It was a guy who has a smallholding and keeps a few sheep in the field as pets who grassed us up, he had seen us there before and didn't like it. Also, i went to the lakes and tripped on shrooms we picked from the previously mentioned field last year, sat on a fell in the night with a fire, tripping with my mates it was unreal, we looked for libs then but found nothing, there will obviously be lots there somewhere though. I think they will probs be out up here now, i just need to get out, slightly worried though, i had my first bad trip last year and it was sheer hell :/ I also went to our fly agaric spot today but found nothing, other amanitas though. Does anyone here take fly agaric? how? what are they like? worth a go? obviously i've never done them but i'm very curious, actually i lie i did make a tea from a few dried caps once but it did nothing apart from give me slightly more energy.

Firstly ... epic story ^ I think you were very lucky. Things could have been alot worse than that.
Secondly i dont think theres any point even trying the amanita's if youve already tried or have access to p.semilanceata. the Fly's have to be dried properly to get rid of the toxins and it just wont compare to the libs. If you really want to go that route then definately do the research first

yeah dicky mate i'm fully aware it could have been a lot worse haha, yeah i've done loads of research and thinking about it, it's nice to have info from people on here who have done them aswell though. My brother ate the skin of a dried fly agaric once, he said it was extremely "full on" and too much, hes done a lot of acid in the past. A lot of people make them out to be mad, so this i why i'm interested, i also bumped into an old hippy character with a claw for a hand carrying a bag full of them in newcastle once, he gave me one and said it was a mad trip, but at the time i hadn't even tried libs and we just let it go mouldy because we were not sure about it. He said to simmer the whole cap in a pan for 50 mins to an hour and drink the water.

I live about two miles from where you found that box full, but I've found nothing yet this season What's your secret? Ha
I know it is really early but it's pretty much the exact same climate. I don't get it. But really I guess it's up to Mr Semilanceata when and where he decides to show himself. My time will come.

My mate's had some. He said they were a bit evil. Interesting and peculiar, but there was just something evil about them. But other people on here have said they enjoy the Fly trip. I guess it's as much to do with the person taking them as it is to do with the mushroom itself. It takes two to tango. lol. Also, current mood, state of mind etc. play big roles in all types trips.
I love libs too much to try Fly Agaric. I'd feel guilty, ha.
