Truskool's explosive LC tek * 1
    #12959106 - 07/26/10 11:10 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

This tek isnt all me.  CH HELL gave me the idea and I added something to it.  Thanks CH.  Mad love and respect.  I seem to have issues getting MS LC's to work.  My LC's are usually made from watever LC tek then I take a piece of colonized grain and transfer it into the LC to get growth.  When I do this tek I get mad explosive growth very quickly.

Things needed

2 teaspoons of karo

3 packets of sugar in the raw from your local starbucks.(Buy a coffee and pocket the packets.)

Gypsum

2 cups of water
1 quart jar
LC lid

Directions
1.  Measure out 2 teaspoons of karo and put the karo into your quart jar
2.  Add three packets of SITR to the quart
3.  Add the 2 cups of water
4.  Add one knifetip of gypsun to the mixture
5.  Put on LC lid
6.  Cover with foil
7.  PC for 20-45 minutes
8.  Once cool inject with spore syringe
9.  Wait for the growth

This is a pic of an LC that I made 6 days ago

Its not showing up that well but its fucking fat super quick.

Enjoy kiddies and may all your grows bring fruits and happiness

I remember we talked about adding gypsum to an LC months ago.

So it helps speed up the growth?

I'd love to see a side-by-side of LC with/without gypsum.

Provided someone else does the work, of course!

Can you find Karo at a grocery store?
Also i've read a post by someone stating that on an LC a lid with only silicone provides decent gas exchange. Is this true or false like i think it should be?

Yea im canadian and had a bitch of a time finding clear corn syrup(karo) but I eventually found it.

LC's need some sort of GE

Ill upload a pic of my lid in a minute
Ive just gotten these sweet lc ports.  Think they are called watman filters.  Ima make some new lids with them soon

These are my old school ghetto lids.  Tyvek on both sides and an rtv injection port.  Now my lc lids have synthetic filter disk material on the top and  apiece of tyvek on the bottom with a special injection port, but you get the idea

Those watman filters look nice. I was thinking about doing similar ghetto lids with silicone and tyvek but i heard the tyvek gets nasty and you have to change it often, do you find this to be true? What about the method where you just use 2 peices of tyvek over the metal lid, doesnt you're inoculation needle make a hole big enough for contams?

For some reason im feeling self conscious or paranoid about my lids

Thats the case period IME.  You have to redo the lids every so often as the tyvek shrinks and starts to get nasty after so many pc runs. The two piece of tyvek isnt going to work for an LC lid. For grains sure but not LC's.  When you use the two pieces of tyvek for a grain lid you would use micropore tape to cover the inoculation hole:shrug:  Hope this helps

that LC just looks cloudy because of the gypsum, to me.

adding gypsum to anything makes it look like cream.

G2G is great, but starting it with MS kinda sucks with an LC you can have your first jar ready a bit quicker.

I think its kinda appropriate to do this LC with CH1

Nice Tru,  I used SITR and Karo for a long time and always had great success.
Let me know how the gypsum works when you put the lc on grain,  hopefully it works out well.  I would personally save the gypsum for your spawn/sub though.  My thinking is adding gypsum to grains helps speed growth and keep the grains loose,  adding it to the lc could cause a delay in growth.  This is just theory and I have never tried it so again let me know how it works out for you.
