Do you mean you picked a mushroom outside and printed it, so you think it's not sterile? or what?

Spores from a non/sterile print, going into honey water will generly get you a jar of grungy liquid contams.
About the only thing to gain sterile material is go to agar with it & isolate some clean material as it colonizes the plate. Arag is easy, but not exactly a beginner thing - either. Because, impart -=- you should do that in a glove box or under a flow hood.

Thanks for all of the replies. I have heard that beer(boiled) and cardboard has been substituted for agar . Can i just go with honey water and cardboard ?

Here is what i plan to do :
Add honey water to cardboard Microwave or pressure cook -- is this nessary since i wont be starting sterile at all ? Add spores Once myclial growth starts add some kind of diluted bleach or h202 slice out a good rhizomorphic section
Sounds sound ?

dont even waste your time on honey water, just adds another way to contam , just use straight cardboard, soaked in a small dish of distilled water, and nuked in a microwave for about 5 - 7 minutes. the cardbaord wont contam since there is no nutrients for the lil buggers to eat, but spores will germintate great on it. let it grow some, and drop it on your grain, or make a myc suspension with it. if your going to sector, it would be wise to use agar.

thanks chrome that was very helpful let me review to make sure everything is clear as if i were reading your order back to you because you might not want onions on that
Add distilied water to cardboard Microwave or pressure cook -- is this nessary since I wont be starting sterile at all ? Add spores -- if I dont need to microwave I'll just print them on the card board Once myclial growth starts add some kind of diluted bleach or h202 --which is better ? slice out a good rhizomorphic section
and I assume we are talking about corregated cardboard

Hmmm... I?ve been using a different method on various occasions, and it worked well. I make a fairly dilutes spores suspension and inoculate a classic PF cake with it on 4 spots with little inoculant. One or more of the spots usually show clean growth, then you can transfer those spots to either peroxided agar, or directly to peroxided grain.
