San Pedro powder inspected by customs - should I be worried?

I recently ordered some San Pedro powder from a foreign retailer and it arrived with tape all over it saying it was inspected by customs. Should I be worried? Presumably the stuff is legal and it arrived at my house, but I just don't want any DEA goons knocking down my door or something.

There are a few stories of people getting busted over cactus powder, but I'm not sure how common it is or how accurate the stories are. Technically, I think you probably could get arrested for it, since it might count as being prepared for human consumption (after all, what else can you do with cactus powder?). On the other hand, I don't know what the law actually says about it.
Erowid says: "Any preparation of the cactus for ingestion would likely turn the plant into a clearly scheduled (illegal) material."

Hmm well I definitely won't buy any more, obviously that's just playing with fire. Ill just stick to whole cuttings.
But one would think if customs were suspicious about this, they wouldn't have let it through, right?
Maybe I should make some incense with it.

If it got through and you're not under arrest, you're probably fine for now. I'd just be very careful about ordering further things of questionable legality. Also, if any police got notified, they might try coming to check out your house, but somehow I doubt that will happen. Making incense also won't help with anything, you might as well just use it as you were originally intending.

Law enforcement is not allowed to let drugs back into circulation. If they believed it was an illegal drug you would not have received it, unless it was delivered by an undercover who then arrested you.

Right point, wrong reasoning. LE can do whatever they want. They let drugs back into circulation all the time if they think it's worthwhile.

From what I believe, and you can correct me if I'm wrong, but in the case of a controlled delivery LE will replace the drugs with something non-active, for the rare chance the subject gets away with the package.
This is if they are just going to bust the recipient. Now if they wanted to follow the food chain, then they may allow the drugs to circulate. This is a rare event, as it would be there ass if the general public found out they released drugs back into circulation.
I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just saying they have to risk/reward it for themselves. Has to be a bust big enough to justify it and I don't think a personal amount of some dried cactus powder qualifies.

Naw, all that shit is secret for the most part. It's impossible to say how often it happens, but there are countless examples of it.
They can always justify it by saying they were trying to "save the children". Sure, in many cases if they want a quick bust they'll replace it with bunk shit, but you certainly don't climb the chain by making fake deals with bunk shit.
Right off the bat if they switch the product they only have "attempted" rather than "possession". Usually doesn't matter since the penalties are the same, but it's certainly a tipoff and a dead end to their investigation.
There's very little risk for them since they simply blame the buyer and seller. They didn't "allow" it, they simply "observed" it in the course of making their case, so there's really no way it can come back on them.
