Does it not seem pathetic for us to plead with the government to stop oppressing a victimless & voluntary "criminal act".
Why should the government be entitled to anybody's hard earned money as a bribe to stop persecution?
Enough with the pussification of America.
Legalize Mary Jane and tell the government to FUCK OFF when it asks for it's bribe/tax!
So, to answer your question: I do not support PROP 19.

you should be against taxing alcohol and everything else then. i think your attitude is insane. should we get a bunch of shotguns to defend our marijuana from bribe/tax? what are you talking about when you talk about the pussification of america.

Marijuana users have been persecuted and marginalized in America for some time now. I see no moral argument for those folks to have to fork funny money over to the government for something that is a "victimless crime".
Also, government regulation and taxation of cannabis would most likely allow big business (id est, Phillip Morris) to corner the market on the marijuana.

I was gonna put this in its own thread but it relates to your subject well-enough. This article basically dispels a lot of the stupid myths surrounding prop-19 (by analyzing the actual proposition and not relying on hearsay).

If I lived there, I'd definitely vote "yes"! Unfortunately, I don't, but I wish you all the luck in the world.
And for those of you who are against taxing it, if you want to see it legalized,it's going to be taxed. It ain't gonna happen otherwise.

i dont live in CA.. but as ive said many times..the outcome of prop 19 will inevitably be tied to the outcome of the senate and gubernatorial elections in CA...and with the polls rocketing rightward even as we speak..it doesnt look at all promising...
even if prop 19 does somehow manage to survive the conservative repugnican tide sweeping the country..i cannot possibly imagine it being implemented under a heavily repugnican US congress and nutmeg whitman as governor of CA...i could easily see whitman collecting the tax in the form of stamps that are never printed..as is done in several other states to enhance criminal penalties...

It would take significantly longer to legalize it without taxation or regulation but I think the outcome would be better.
I prefer to take a long view...

if i lived there, i would vote yes for sure.
i can't believe all the bogus coverage this has gotten in the main stream media though. there's an article on nbc talking about how prop 19 will mean everyone can come in to work stoned, and how employers will have to let people smoke joints on their "smoke breaks."
http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/politics/Group-Prop-19-Would-Mean-Pot-Smoking-at-Work-100625869.html
i mean for fucks sake, that's low. do employers let their people play beer pong during lunch breaks?
