can you put a T in a cool mist line?
    #1292969 - 02/09/03 07:46 AM (21 years, 2 months ago)

Has anyone put a T in there cool mist lines so they can run more than one tank off one unit?

If this were to work would you double the time that the mist runs?

Say you run 5 mins every hour would you up it to 10 mins every hour?
Also did you notice one line pumps stronger than the other?

Can't speak for the cool mist, but I have the one line stronger then the other thing with my dual bubbler set up, took a piece of wire and tightened it around one line to get even flow, in effect reducing the one line.
Migh tbe an idea for you if you have the same prob.

I don't see a problem with doing that as long as the humidifier is capable of putting off enough moisture to supply both terrariums.

well, humidifiers are made to humidify a whole room, why wouldn't they be able to supply two small terreriums?

i used two tubes coming out of mine to supply two different chambers. Make sure that both have the same flow rate into the chamber, so that one doesn't get more airflow than the other one.

Would some sort of water or air shut off valve in each line let me set the air flow?
Or would doing that cause a problem?

If you use pvc pie & slide on fittings, you can put pvc ball type valves in each line. They plastic valves are only a few bucks each at Home Depot, Lowes & most large hardware stores. 6T

Does anyone see any reason to use over 1/2 inch pvc?
