Has anyone tried drying fresh leaves in a book with a weight on top? After 3 days they come out looking just about the same only lighter. I didn't want to smoke because i had just fertilizied, so they're going to be craft projects. Also does anyone know how long to wait before smoking if you feritilize? i've heard its 23 days. One more question, does it matter how deeply you plant a cutting?

Yes and No, if you have a length of bare stalk you could plant it deep, but run the risk of fungal attacks and rot, i normally plant it deep enough to support and cover the roots with an inch or so of soil above them.

Unless you used a really strong chemical fertilizer on your plants or a foliar type fertilizer, I wouldn't worry about smoking the leafs. The nitrogen, potassium, and other nutrients are going to be in there whether you fertilize or not. Right? (Anyone- second opinions would be appreciated on this one! ) I never had any problems before and I juice mine about once a month with Miracid. I think if anything it could slightly affect the potency or taste, but I never notice it.
