It was merely my opinion, not meant to offend.
I havent got the time or energy to get into this debate any further with you. I realised that when you made your comment about how the way children are nurtured has devolved over time. Next you would be telling me that racism is worse now than 100 years ago, slavery is more prevalent and women's equality has deteriorated. I must have read different history books to you! Take it easy.

That's a lie.
And while much of our prejudice has gone underground it's all still there and even then wouldn't qualify as a "massive difference in cultures" imo.
Of course you don't have time. You're not doing well.
Which exact history books have you read?

hahahahahaha i keep seeing these anti capitalism threads and i think they are funny.
Working people benefit most from capitalism therefore Hard Work=more money=more freedom Capitalism is=to Libertarianism
Socialism is for people who do not wish to work, it says that humans cannot make it on their own. While this is true, it is important to be independant instead of following everyone else. A lot of things would be cheaper if it werent payed through gvnmt

From the news today...
Quote:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/14/AR2010071405960.html?hpid=topnews Companies pile up cash but remain hesitant to add jobs
Corporate America is hoarding a massive pile of cash. It just doesn't want to spend it hiring anyone. Nonfinancial companies are sitting on $1.8 trillion in cash, roughly one-quarter more than at the beginning of the recession. And as several major firms report impressive earnings this week, the money continues to flow into firms' coffers.
A survey last month of more than 1,000 chief financial officers by Duke University and CFO magazine showed that nearly 60 percent of those executives don't expect to bring their employment back to pre-recession levels until 2012 or later -- even though they're projecting a 12 percent rise in earnings and a 9 percent boost in capital spending over the next year.
Sorry, but I just don't think your opinion has much substantiation behind it. Where are these big corporations that are collapsing before our eyes as we speak? How many? Do you have any names of these corporations? Earnings, projections? You know, if big corporations really are collapsing before our very eyes as we speak, it would mean that there is information that verifies this, in our plain sight, and, since you're the one expressing this information, it should mean that you have access to this information.

capitalism is great in all but not if it does more harm then good i think the system is set up to help the 1% of americans that are the most wealthy rather than the other 99%

Well think of it this way, capitalism is a big chain of promotion of business. More businesses=more work=more money for workers=more wealth for the economy. You have the choice to buy something or not, Libertarians think that all the subliminal message doowhakey shouldbe illegalized. Libertarians believe in full out drug legalization and the abolishment of speed limits. its basicall;y anarchism with a little bit of sanity.
So how about socialism? mmmm tasty, take responsible hard working people and reduce them to shit, getting less bang for their buck, their money gets spent by stupid beaurocrats.
Look at greece? Soviet Union? Socialism has not stood the test of time, shall i make an analogy?
Mushrooms have been used forever by indigenous people with barely any problems (Libertarians/Capitalists). Crystal meth and or PCP has caused damage after human usage (Socialism) But those drugs are just so addictive to our "CARE ME" culture.

LOL@Captialism = mushrooms and Socialism = crystal meth.
I see Capitalism and socialism as tools that societies use. I think if a society manages to apply either system in their pure form then that society would function fantastically well. However, as with say a gun, you can misuse any tool.
Personally I think capitalism has more going for it than socialism but I still think we could apply the system/tool of capitalism in a much better way.

This could easily apply to capitalism too surely?
