Adjust your controller so when you light a bic cigarette lighter in front of the flowhood, it bends the flame 45 to 90 degrees, but doesn't blow it out.  Less air is generally better than more air when doing sterile work, so shoot for closer to where the flame bends 45 degrees.
RR

It's a rule of thumb. I don't agree with everything RR says, just most of it.

That wasn't a bic lighter it was an alcohol lamp that was barely lit.

You want 90 to 125 FPM. Not 300+. Like I said, I have yet to see a hepa rated at 300+ FPM. Have you?

Either way, I'm done with this thread. :awetongue:

If you exceed the CFM or FPM rating of the HEPA you have defeated the filters ability to work properly.

This is a fact.

I don't trust anyone that uses animated cartoons to strengthen their argument.

That shit is fucked up still dood. Max a bic lighter at the front of it should bend 90 degrees, like it is coming at you. You can move back 6 inches and the lighter should be closer to 45 degrees. Your filter ain't going to work for shit.

Not sure who this dipshit is above is, and why he is saying it works fine now, but it ain't. Good luck with that bro. Blowing air much past the rating of the filter, decreases the ability for it to work. So have fun with having a non working flow hood! And whoever the dumbass is above supporting that it is ok, dood wtf are you thinking.

The fan you have is for a filter 2x the size man. Max CFM the fan should blow is 750, and even that is pushing it. 1300 CFM is RIDICULOUSLY TO MUCH CFM for that FILTER.

your blower needs to be strong enough for both the prefilter and to compensate for the fact that
in several years the filter will have more and more particulates in it, reducing the output of air
from your filters face.
a stronger blower ensures your hood will still work as well in 10 years as it does new.
just block part of your intake for now.

and why are you fucks hating on Damion50/50?
cool dude w/ a hot ass avatar and great advice.
