i was thinkin maybe you could cut a slice in the bottom of whatever you have your casing in, then tape one end of the hydro wick to the end off a ruler the use that to feed it through the casing and through yur slice, and dippin the wick in water and h2o2 mix to add extra moisture, what do you guys think?

The Hydro Wick, and Ebb and Flow systems that work so well for growin' Herb (Overgrow) does not do to well with shroomies. They are both way too open to contaminants to be of too much use.

Possibly for a short period of time. But eventually one contam or another would win out over the myc.

Regardless of what may or may not happen, you should give it a shot. I've herd a lot about growing Salvia which is ALSO dependent on constant water needs without over saturation by use of a "wick". It is done by swirling a very thin wick (i believe polyester rope, but not 100% sure) through the soil in the pot that it is grown in. In theory this could be done by sterilizing the polyester rope and then feeding it in an equal pattern through your casing and then saturating the rope with bottled water that is housed in a stacked container underneath. If you want almost a perfect sterile environment you can seal the bottom water chamber and then make a silicone covered hole that you can inject that water through. You should definitely try it none the less. I'm getting some more syringes soon and I'm thinking of doing it myself and writing my first tek on the results.

also if you want to try it with a cake you can install it into the cake before sterilizing it and for the part that drops into the lower chamber just roll up some of the rope at the top BEFORE the vermiculite layer is added.

This thread has been closed.
Reason: He's not going to give it a shot because he gave up on the bad idea four years ago.
Mushrooms depend on a LOSS of moisture from the substrate to fruit. If you saturate them, or keep a steady moisture level, they fruit poorly if at all. Mushrooms are not plants, which benefit from steady moisture levels. RR
