Will this work?
    #1290930 - 02/08/03 12:56 PM (15 years, 4 months ago)

A couple of my jars have stalled and im sure of it. So I took the myc that has grown so far, cleaned it of uncolonized substrate, and dunked it in 8ozs of water with 2 cc's of h2o2. I then broke the mycellium up into smaller pieces a placed the chunks into the bottom of a sterilized 1/2 pint jar. Put the jar into a glass candy dish, filled with perlite and water. I know its a long shot, but does anyone think this will fruit?, also none of the jars were rank smelling.

Sure, it'll fruit. I'd put a thin casing layer on it.

50/50???, Wouldnt I have to let it incubate some more. How bout a thin layer of Plain Verm, I wouldnt need to incubate that would I.

Well, That would depend on how big your casing layer was. Something very thin would most likely need  at least a day or two of incubation just to get the myc into the casing layer.

Approximately how much substrate are you casing?
What did you use for your initial substrate?

:smirk:

My original Substrate is BRF&Verm. I'm casing about 1/2 half pint jar worth

i had a couple stalled jar's, with maybe 35-50% mycelium growth, i just took the mycelium out threw away the uncolonized substrate and put in ziploc baggies, i put some mycelium ina bag with verm, some in another bag with BRF and verm, nd another with 50/50 mix....and i keep them in a toque (a wool hat) haha on top of my chamber...i have growth and plan on casing it after my current casings are spent...i love this new hobby

It would be a good idea to let incubate so the mycellium can regenerate after the torture it's gone through
