Is this normal? check the pic

Ok, strange things going on here. I have 3 pfcakes (verm/brf) of mex cub and a casing of amazonian sitting in a propergator. Temp is 78F and although I don't have a hygrometer, the humidity seems fine. They have been sitting in there for one week. The problem is that the pinning on everything looks great but only one cake has grown a shroom, with another on the way (on the same cake), but on the other cakes I have nothing!

Is this normal and will all the others catch up? Some guy at nans nook said that he mists his casings 3 times a day and his flushes look amazing(seen his pics). Will it help to mist even though there is perlite in there?

I was told to mist even when using an ultrasonic humidifier, so i guess its the same for perlite edit: on casings that is, but i suppose this also applys on the vermiculite layers you have on top of your cakes

I mist my perlite fruiting chamber. Also you may need the perlite to be a little deeper next time round. But every crop ive had so far has a front runner like that one.The others always seem to pin more after the front runners grown up a bit for me lol.

Yeah, I decided to mist everything anyway.
I am starting to discover that this mycology thing isn't an exact science! It seems that for every person that says you shouldn't do something a certain way, there is another person that has done it and with great success!

That many cakes and a casing will need much air exchange. At least 3 times a day.

I fan at least 3 times a day, so it can't be that. I think patience is my problem! I had to laugh today reading that guys post at Nansnook. He gave pics for each stage of his growing. As soon as it pinned, he misted 3 times a day, so my 'shroomery head' kicked in and I said to myself,"Oooh thats a bad idea, too many contams!" Before I had even finished thinking it, I saw the rest of the pics showing one of the most impressive flushes I have ever seen, and far better than any growlog I have seen on this site!!!! Are we all in some kind of religious cult here at the shroomery? are the admins hiding the great mycology truth? Can we mist like crazy and pretty much do what we want!? Lol

Maybe a good cold shocking would help? This suggestion is not based off direct experience, but rather what I've read on here.

I've aways been led to believe that misting is not such a good idea when you're using perlite. The perlite alone should keep the rH up above at least 95%.
Don't worry about any inconsistent fruiting times. It happens Sometimes you'll get a hundred mature fruitbodies at the same time, sometimes they'll be spread apart by fairly long intervals.
