Not what you asked, but clone a stone on agar or brf.

I have no experience to offer, but I do understand what you are asking.
The good (but not entirely confirmed) news is that you should be able to harvest the stones and then fruit the remainder.
I have yet to confirm whether the remainder should be spawn to bulk, or just allowed to re-knit, or what substrates this strain prefers.
(but being a cube, I am thinking poo)
Good luck!

If you harvested your grains, they all have contam on it already, you must use non nutritive sub only.

I think bulk would be your best bet, a little coir/manure/verm mix with gypsum.
I've seen good results even after taking the sclerotia out, but I usually keep them in.
Treat them like pans, lots of fresh air, but keep a nice humidity in there.

You can consider it entirely confirmed And ATL#7 is P. galindoi, not P. mexicana.

Oh, and just to answer your question.
- I have fruited P. galindoi/ATL on regular BRF cakes and straight cased grains (HARVESTED THE STONES BEFORE). - I have fruited P. mexicana/Jalisco on cased RGS and I have spawned it to coir as well. IIRC the spawned to coir jar HAS HAD ABSOLUTELY NO STONES IN IT, and it fruited well. I'm not gonna plug my threads and pictures, you find them for more/other info in my Journal. - I have fruited (shitty result, but a few prints) P. mexicana/A spawned to horse manure/coir/verm/straw bulk AFTER THE STONES HARVESTED. - And finally fruited P. tampanensis spawning to the same manure/coir/straw/verm right after I HARVESTED ALL THE GODDAMN STONES from the substrate.
I hope this clears it up a little.

@StoneSun: Thank you for the confirmation.
This is good news, and is something that I will be doing shortly.

Not exactly true with ATL. I use wire mesh ('hardware cloth') over a tub when I spawn atl to catch the big stones.
