Re-inoculate
    #1290222 - 02/08/03 06:25 AM (13 years, 9 months ago)

Okay, my pet dingo was knockin up ten jars, and he he noticed by the fifth one that he still had well over half the syringe left, so he used way more on the next five. He just wants to know if its safe (he still has half a syringe) to re-inoculate those first five with the rest, since they only got like two drops per hole the first time.

I have successfully re-inoculated a cake/jar because i felt I did not put enough in the 1st time (like within 10 minutes, not days later)

Yeah this is two days later..... but just so long as my dingo is all sterile again, I can't really see the problem.

I re-inoculated them after seeing no sign of mycelium in some of the Jars.
My syringes came from holland and I believe they contained a very small amount
of spores in them. Most of my jars have only one spot of mycelium growing on them and some have nothing at all. So I've had to re inoculate them with more spores.

I followed the procedure well and have had no contaminants at all.
Used 2 cc for each jar and some of them failed.

All this jars are  21 days old and the 1st one on the left is re-inoculated 3 days a go.  I used 4 holes and only on one side of them, the mycelium started to grow.

I don't think I'll ever order from this company again

1 - 2 drops should be adequate, especially with a darker syringe, for germination. Fanaticus recommends using 1/4 cc's per hole. 1cc per jar.

and their syringes are not the slightest bit dark. There syringes are the only ( That I Know of) which are suitable for honey water.

can you explain that reasoning as I have used a wide variety of syringes for honey water as it is a great way to multiply a syringe. I think your saying that PF's syringes are so light it is almost necessary to strengethen the solution with pre-germination via honey water. Or are you saying that PF syringes are the only ones that will work work with HW. BTW, I'm tired as hell and staying up on caffeine to get some work done so maybe that explains why your comment doesn't sound right to me.
