Legal question about residents

Ok so SWIM has done his research and is ready to begin a small scale fun guy area for himself. SWIM plans to start off in jars with WBS and transfer to straw/poo in litter boxes, small tupperware etc... SWIM is going to get something about the size of a large tupperware container (but something that locks) to house SWIMS jars and small bulk spawn.
Now SWIM lives with someone else. SWIM pays rent but there is technically no "paperwork" for the room he rents in the house. Cash rent every month. SWIM is a honerable person and will take the fall for his actions is caught. SWIM just wants to be sure the people who own the house will not be in any trouble if something were to happen. Could the owners of the home be held responsible in any way ???? It will be under lock and key in SWIM's room, which also has a lock on it. SWIM also worries about smoking pot at night. SWIM's neighbors are assholes and he is scared they will call the cops after smelling herb one night resulting in a reasonable search of the house? What reasons DO cops need to enter a premises ? Thanks for any KNOWLEDGABLE responses.

Sure. If they are aware of your activities and allow you to conduct them then they are a party to the crime.
If they don't know of your activities and have no reasonable way of knowing about them then they have no legal liability. All of your shit better be under lock and key with nothing in the common areas of the home.
As far as weed smell... take a tube (like a paper towel roll core) and partially plug one end, then stuff a few dryer sheets into it. Exhale all of your smoke into this tube and the smell will be eliminated. There's also ozium (air freshener spray) that's well known to be very effective for weed smoke. In the dorm rooms we often used to pop some microwave popcorn, which covers up the smell pretty damn well.

Here's a thought. Man up. Do the right thing and don't put these people in jeopardy.
-------------------- You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~ Adrian Rogers

Yeah, if your roommate like to party a bit and has anything around, he'd get busted when you do.

They'll find out. You simply can't do what you're trying to do in total secrecy from the people you live with, and shit will follow. Suggestion: wait until you have your own place, grow, and tell no one.
