Newbie questions on jar boiling and flushes.
    #1287695 - 02/07/03 05:23 AM (21 years, 28 days ago)

Can the jars be boiled for 2 hrs? Will this double the chance of sterility? Or will too much water inside the jars evaporate? How often do u flush after they are in the terrarium about? Does the first flush take longer? any answers would be appereciated.

I usually boil for about 75 minutes. 2 hours may dry out your jars.

The number of flushes you receive ultimately depends upon the conditions in your terrarium.

You can boil them for 2 hours if you like by try a middle medium of maybe 1.5 hours.
I have had 5 flushes so far of my cakes and there still pinning but i may throw them out as im running low on space.
The first flush does seem to take longer but thats because i was so impatient for results lol.Once they start flushing they seem to flush about once a week or a little less.

Good luck with it
