I have tried growing from seed a bunch of times. They never sprouted. Germ rate was terrible. I had to order a plant online.

Irie Renes, Jungle! That's what they like. Once you've got good fresh seeds then you should get some to sprout. I'm growing some out and they seem to do better in good shade....where they like to stretch.... You should be good in your location, they should thrive. Respect Z

What time of year did you get yours Zaka, as this may help the OP know when to order.

late fall early winter seems best if your getting seeds from brazil. that's what i was told anyway, not sure how the season changes the further south/north they are though.
like zaka says some shade. but i find with caapi, and in fact many vines that tend to start low and take over up top, they do best with some shade to induce stretching then put them in full sun and let them go nuts.

Irie, I got my last set from a South American company, in Sept last year & had a good germ rate. His advice "B. caapi (Caupuri strain) seeds. Plant caapi seeds AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, because it is like coca/novogranatensis seeds, it lost viability REALLY FAST Use a got potting soil. Caapi preffer acid and rich soils (5.5 to 6.5 pH)" That company takes pre-orders so you get them as they are ripe. And has a couple of strains.
I've got one that was next to water tank but I moved the tank and it's now sitting in full full by itself. We'll see how it does! I was thinking that I would just curl it up on it's self and make some sort of living sculpture... Respect Z

Caapi likes full sun and endures well low RH, as long as it gets enough water on its roots.
It only doesn't likes cold, and is likely to die if temps go below zero Celsius.
