Personally i am very 50/50 on the subject. When i first tried hallucinogens i LOVED night tripping but almost nothing can beat day tripping and just admiring some good old nature. But then again fireworks at night are always a guaranteed amazing time.

the only time i ever trip during the day is when im out of state hiking. im in illinois, and for some reason, i dont like the vibes of illinois forest when im tripping. i dont know what it is. so for me, my ideal trip setting is night time in my basement (has a great vibe for me) and i occasionally venture into my backyard to lay in the grass and look at the stars. there is just something about night that i cant explain. i love everything about it. so for now, with my current living conditions, night time all the way.

night because that's the most peaceful time in the city. i only do big doses these days so don't need or want external stimuli.

If the acid is good, I trip during night and day. I picked night tripping only because its not so damn hot at night.

You really need to experience both. Colors are much more vibrant during the day but I feel that the visuals suffer because of all the light.
At night, the colors aren't as rich or vibrant but the visuals are much more detailed. Plus, the darkness adds to the magic.
I've been doing day trips for a while and now i'm starting to get back into tripping at night. It's a completely different world.

If you feel your visuals are "suffering," you're just not dosing high enough.
Yeah, at night you're more likely to see things that aren't really there, but I don't think that it's better. Light causes color. Ever watch the grass get so green it just explodes because the blades can't hold all the green?

I prefer day tripping. The only times I really night trip are if someone else feeds me something and I gotta eat it on the spot. If given a choice I always pick day.

I think both are fun but the visual aspect of the trips gets really crazy for me at night. You know how the background looks on most Alex Grey paintings? Well that's not so coincidentally exactly what pitch black darkness looks like to me when I'm shroomin real good. Stars will blow your mind too and watching a fire burn at night is an instant classic. I've had nights where I felt like me and the fire were communicating to each other.
It can be tough to walk around and explore at night though.. Especially if you are out in nature. I just can't actually see anything other than massively intense patterns warping and melting my visual field.
But I think there should be a third option for 'sunset or sunrise'. Those are the ultimate trips for me because I get a little of both and the sunsets around where I live can be pretty amazingly colorful all on their own.

I prefer it at night. The world seems even more alien. My favourite trips have been exploring places like industrial complexes with huge tanks, pipelines going everywhere. It would just seem mundane during the day and there would be people about.
Walking around old parts of town at night can also be really exciting, everything half lit by streetlights. I think the world is more mysterious at night in general and this seems to tap into the sense of seeing the world with fresh eyes that acid gives.
Yeah, and seeing a starlit sky or a very bright moon reflecting off the sea is just amazing...

Suffering might have been the wrong word. I just meant that the visuals are more distinct and impressive at night. During the day, there are a lot more colors and a lot more life in everything. Although daytime visuals are awesome, they just don't compare to nighttime visuals.
