    #1287079 - 02/07/03 12:53 AM (15 years, 3 months ago)

so theres this short kid at my school, and hes always harassing people and stuff. lke, hes going around touching people n shit. well, in school, me and some friend play hackysack during lunch. so he comes into the circle, and people start picking on him. i guess i wanted to be funny or something, so i threw the sack at him, and got everybody to jump after the sack and try to kick him. anywho, he got hurt, cuz he got kicked in the nuts. he walked away, and kinda started crying, so I followed him, and told him im sorry and whatnot, although he wasnt relly pissed at me, he was pissed at the grrl who kicked him in the nuts.

anywho, yea. i feel realy bad about it. oi. i just wanna be nice to people from now on. how do i stop being mean please?

I think you've already begun to stop being mean; by realising what you did was wrong and feeling guilty about it. You can't change what happened, but don't dwell on it. Just think a little before being mean and how it would affect you if the roles were reversed.

I was thinking about meanness (*such a word?) the other day, and kept thinking that it doesn't matter who you are, but everyone is here doing the same thing: living. If you go around making life uncomfortable for an individual then you are depriving him/her of a peaceful, relaxing experience. You have to realise that the implications of being mean could stretch further than you can imagine. For example: Personally I am a sensitive person, and when someone is mean to me (justified or not), I tend to dwell on it, and can easily get upset which leads to anger, stress, and sometimes depression - its a vicious circle.

Don't be a sub though, if someones being deliberately mean to you without cause then fight back - they're just being a bully!

My advice: Live and Let Live

You're on the right track

Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.
