I thought that mycellum growing on the cap meant too little humidity?

okay, first thing you need to do is stop trying to lower your humidity. 100% humidity is ideal for cakes.

yes, what you need is more humidity...first thing, get rid of the heating pad, this is not needed...for primordia initiation, the walls of your terrarium should be covered w/ condensation (100% humidity)...once primordia form, lower humidity to @ 75%, then all will be well...good luck!
