Is Mail Watched? Flagged? Tracked?

Just wondering if any of you think and/or know if the items that get mailed to us is watched by government, mail services, police?
I'm concerned cause I am wanting to order such things as: GBL, Lye, Mimosa Hostilis
And I'm wondering if such things as these would get a flag or whatnot in the postal service and then they would watch what else gets sent to that address and possibly report to the police?
Thoughts?
Thanks.

They should be more concerned with people who order things that are actually illegal. If you order legal shit then you should be fine. People mail like pounds and pounds of weed in fedex packages, pounds of shrooms, crazy shit. I don't think they have the time to give a shit about some kid buying some Salvia or something.

Yea but a buddy of mine had 4lbs of mushies that never made it to its destination. He thinks it was the mail man, but you never know. definitely wasn't the cops or else they would have just showed up at the address you know.

Ordering lye would probably get you put on a list since it is a precursor for meth.

As long as the product, whatever it is, is properly packaged and not excessive, I don't think it gets noticed at all. It is extremely difficult for the post office or police to get authority to open a sealed piece of first class mail, a search warrant must be obtained. I think X-rays MAY be used in some circumstances, especially with international mail that may weigh a lot or look / smell suspicious. Drug dogs are occasionally employed, and in the case of a seizure, depending on size (in the OP's case, I wouldn't worry about it), a "controlled delivery" is made because the prosecution has to prove you actually accepted the parcel or intended to receive it, knowing of its contents. Anyone can mail anyone else anything, so its a hard case to fight.
Sometimes, a controlled delivery isn't even made, they just seize it and that's that. You may or may not get a notice describing the seizure in the mail. I have seen this happen with marijuana seeds.
Since you normally receive your mail in your mail box, and one day one of your "questionable" packages is being delivered to your door asking for a signature, it would be wise to deny it and certainly not sign for anything. Typically, an undercover cop will deliver it and say something along the lines of "I have a package here with no name, would you mind signing for it and accepting it?" This type of activity by a normal postman would be completely out of the ordinary.
Just be smart.

There's no legal reason to track the mailing of legal substances. Hence it's not done.
Lye is also not a precursor to meth BTW.
