ive had some pedros and peruvians indoors all winter under a 400w HPS in regular cactus soil, and they did show some growth, but not very much. i dont think a hydro system would really work, it would most likely cause the roots to rot and the cactus to die, kinda like what happens if you overwater.

well just depends on the temperature RH inside the grow chamber i believe. and the water level from the root systems. but it should be possible all plants can be cultivated via hydro. but i think ima abandon sincee previous notes said 400w hps only yielded a lil growth. was only gonna do 70-150w.

I think The best hydro for cacti would be a hole in a pvc with the cacti roots down inside and turning a pump on once a day to wet the roots with ferts...NOT KEEPING THEM WET CONSTANTLY..only for a short period every day...

no not really, but i just kinda wanna see out of the thrill of exploration and experimentation if it's been done, and if not i'd kidna want to try it many different ways to see if there is a way that works, or if all work.

I know it's essentially pointless and could be a waste of time,, but it will fill a void in my already dull life and give me some sort of thrill..

err not that little, but not as much as a house plant. The whole point of the hydroponics system is direct emersion of the roots in the water.
