my thoughts on guns for self-defense spoken by bill hicks

you only need to defend yourself if you are afraid. my experiences with stuff like ayahuasca has shown me that there is absolutely no reason, ever, to be afraid.

that's the thing, the guns were apparently not illegal according to the

makes this sad is that with weaver had the sheriff gone up, told him
there was a problem that he needed to come down to town to get it
straightened out it could have all been avoided, the wrong date was put
on his summons so the US marshals were called in to serve a warrant,
they wanted randy to turn informant against the aryan nation, a group he
had no affiliation with, he refused and their sting to bust him and
force him to be an informant was under way

Dude I'm an ex government employee with family in law enforcement and politics and two weeks ago you told me you get along great with small town police and it "must just be me" because I started knocking local corrupt law enforcement in my community after a an inside look working for the city.

I thought living in a good ol American small town was nothing but Apple Pie and AKs for a guy like you...

Or maybe you just argue for the sake of arguing on here... and debase peoples experiences when it suits your mood.

im thinking in too abstract of terms for this conversation so negate that point. my buddhist beliefs get in the way of political thought.

at the end of the day the difference between your perspective and mine is that you are afraid of the government and i am not.

the only examples of the government cracking down on people seemed completely understandable to me. Not condoning it. but definitely understandable. it wasn't random and a form of bullying as you seem to suggest.

as for the smoking a joint thing. how do you think we should solve that problem?

with guns? thats laughable and totally insane. besides, the west coast, not just CA suggests that we are moving towards the legalization of marijuana anyway. and just because i cant take drugs in front of cops doesnt mean i cant take drugs

I'm in a small town, population under 2000, the cops here are pretty nice,
we did have one gung ho, peckerhead of a cop, he didnt last long before he
was sent packing by the citizens

it's been my experience that most cops respond in kind to the way they're
treated, what's that tell you about yourself and your town

it's a little over the top on first look but really when you look back
at how much is being stripped from you in the lines of freedoms, peek at
the congress that opts not to listen to it's constituents, the
presidential administrations that simply dont give a fuck about the
little guy and finds new ways to circumvent both the rights of citizens
and logical thinking then add the judicial system that frequently
forgets both the letter of the law and the spirit of the law in order to
dole out Justice®... armed conflict seems to be the faster route

but I advocate making an impact in politics myself

Quote:

besides, the west coast, not just CA suggests that we are moving towards the legalization of marijuana anyway. and just because i cant take drugs in front of cops doesnt mean i cant take drugs

the simple facts, it's a federal crime to cultivate, distribute, possess
or consume marijuana and just because the states make it legal doesnt
mean the federal government will, whatcha think it'll take for the feds
to get on the bandwagon and allow states to have the right to decide
what's more is doesnt the declaration of independence guarantee us the
right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, wouldnt me being
happy include deciding what I choose to consume without government
intervention, prohibition or additional taxation as long as I dont
infringe upon the rights of others

just because you can take drugs doesnt mean you're free to do so, you're
labeled as a criminal because you choose to break those laws

it's interesting, Lon Horiuchi was the HRT shooter responsible for the
death of vicki weaver, he was also the shooter that was claimed to be
shooting people trying to exit the burning building in Waco, he was
charged with manslaughter in the weaver shooting but it was moved to
federal court so that the government could dismiss the case claiming it
was 'in performance of his duty', a law that they passed for him
