N. Korea talking "pre-emptive strike"

Quote:
"The United States says that after Iraq, we are next," the paper quoted Ri as saying, "but we have our own countermeasures. Pre-emptive attacks are not the exclusive right of the U.S."
Quote:
"When the U.S. makes a surprise attack on our peaceful facilities, it will spark off a total war," the state-run newspaper Rodong Sinmun said in a commentary carried by North Korea's official news agency, KCNA.
As bad as it sounds, North Korea has every right to hit us first. We're doing that very thing in Iraq, and we plan on doing it in North Korea next. What would you do? We're about to set a very dangerous precedent in Iraq that's about to backfire on us in a bad bad way. Get your kicks while you can folks. This whole shithouse is about to go up in flames.

Politics and governments sicken me...
Regardless of the country or political system, the people who rise to the top in politics are precisely the ones least trustworthy to be holding or exercising such power. We should learn the lesson taught in 'The Lord of The Rings,' that this power should be granted to no one. Alas, humans are vain and dimwitted animals doomed to ignore the lessons of their own history.
The longer I live, the more I see the inherent dangers in any government, in any system that seeks to wield power over human beings, to manipulate their behaviors towards someone's notion of 'higher' ends. Political solutions are not the answer to problems that plague us in relations involving governments, they are the source of problems. Only when people learn to renounce the initiation of force in human affairs as a means achieving their goals will we begin to move beyond the terrible consequences of political machinations.
-------------------- To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.' Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence. Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains. Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

We could take Korea with one hand tied behind our back (or Iraq).
It's if China gets involved that it will be a problem.

If we strike North Korea, they will retaliate and strike South Korea. It will be a blood bath with human loss in the hundred thousands if not millions.

Are you aware that North Korea has the 6th largest army in the world, not to mention nuclear weapons?

"People said; `Uh, uh, Bill. Iraq had the fourth largest army in the world.' Yeah, maybe, but you know what? After the first three largest armies, there's a real big fuckin' drop-off, alright? The Hare Krishnas are the fifth largest army in the world, and they've already got our airports, okay? I think that's the greater threat right now."

Yeah, they wouldn't have all that if they spent more of their resources on developing thier country, and taking care of their population. THey leave that up to people like us while they spend all the cash we freed up feeding their people on their military.
We should tell them to STFU or we'll cut off their allowance.

"We could take Korea with one hand tied behind our back (or Iraq)."
So they don't pose a threat?
Then why would we even attack them in the first place?
You do understand what nuclear weapons are, right?
