anti-bacterial/fungal system in humidifier - problem?

Hi,
I'm looking at a humidifier for a small indoor greenhouse & it is advertised as having "Integrated into the humidifier is an antibacterial system that limits the growth of fungus and mould"
This sounds like a problem but I'm assuming this isn't unique for humidifiers & someone here will have come across it before.
Anyone know if its possible to easily turn off or by-pass such systems, or if its really so much to get worried about in the first place.
The humidifier in quuestion is the PREM-I-AIR Ultrasonic Ioniser Humidifier Model PUH-610
* 4.5 ltr tank * Built-in Ioniser * Integrated into the humidifier is an antibacterial system that limits the growth of fungus and mould * 3 operating settings * Easy clean & fill water tank * LED display - soft touch controls * Humidifier capacity - 300ml/hr * 7 hour timer * Automatically switches off when empty with alarm warning * Suitable for rooms up to 45m squared or 480ft squared * 48 hours maximum running time

Does it kill the mold inside the water or does it actually spray an anti-fungal in the air? If it's the first it should be ok, if it's the second you should be able to replace the anti-fungal as it it a poison (and runs out) so all you'd have to do is remove it.

Thats the thing, I don't know how it works. I've got onto the Prem-i-air website & found the instruction manual. It makes me a bit more confident as it says:
Quote:
Main Functions 1. Special construction and plastic materials reduce the growth of fungus and bacteria in your humidifier.
That looks ok, if its only to prevent fungus growth inside the humidifier I'm not worried.
But it also says:
Quote:
Negative ions can be added to the mist output that combine with dust, bacteria and mildew in the air and neutralise them
I don't know how this would affect mushroom growth. Does anyone? There seems to be a button to turn off the negative ions anyway so it may be ok.
