Well a while ago i thought i would try some MEX A on BRF cakes for fun
They were around 30 days old when I harvested them, the real purpose was to get some stones to put on agar.
It took well over a hour to harvest these little guys,
The cake was made up of BRF,Verm,Coffee diluted water,Gypsum
To be continued

On a side note I used Potato/coffee water agar, seems to work well for sclerotia species

Might as well they work well for testing isolates and in this case getting stones fast

Even tho cakes are seen as a beginner thing, I must say I still use regularly in every aspect, even while doing bulk

thats awesome! I always wondered wether or not this would work. Does the mycelium push the verm out of the way, or colonize around it, putting vermiculite in your stones...those would be some stoney stones!

BTW. i mailed your hushmail.com addy on 17/6 when i came across a request for an ATL#7 print in the market place.seems you allready got one.
wheat grain spawned to coir/gypsum then cased are on 3/4th flush, they seem to fruit continually rather than in proper flushes. no sign of any contam as yet.

Nope the stones are free of verm, they grow around the verm

I know his answer was confusing. The choices were "do they push the verm. OUT OF THE WAY," or do they"grow around it" meaning the verm would be in the stones. He said they grow around it, but are not in it

They push it out of the way for the most part.
I would use grains to get stones though, 11g in 30 days isn't very good. you can get stones fast by using smaller jars of grain, a 1/2 pint grain jar would have given you twice as many stones in the same time. CH
