Are they stalled

When is it safe to say your jars have stalled? I let them incubate without peeking for 3 days, today is the 17th day, and it seems they did not grow at all in those 3 days. Of course I cant see the inside of the jar, but it seems the surface colonization has slowed to almost nothing, and there is Mycellium piss, on some of the jars. How long should I wait before giving up hope? What can you do with jars that wont colonize the substrate completly?

it doesn t matter 82 86 if cake or grain.30 is make it a little fast in the first days of your cycle.then drop the temps 1 degree 1 degree every day.until the temp is 27.2 .and read the annos the importance of the gas exchange post.

FUGU ......TEMP is very impotant bud . Gas exchange is too , but temps affect speed of growth a whole lot ! ASK ANNO ! She has a neat little pic showing what I am saying . FUGU did you get that book I told you about ? No ...........go get it pal ! ANNO check out that typo misspell ....... poor bastard cant even spell impotent right , I meant to say "important " !

trip you have to go back and read your book again.i hope you are going to be more helpfull for me in the later times.27.2 is an important fact.also i didnt ask these kind of simple questions to anno.because everybody around who is undestanding his/her readings can know this fact. anno has got a lot of things to do. dont bother anno with these kinds of askings..

(god i hope no one seen that lol) if the surface is colonized then the inside is colonized has been my experience. what you can do is cut off the uncolonized part and case that fucker! when in doubt, wait a little bit longer (the answers blow in the wind)

Sorry was me making ass u me ! I was getting ready to say you were a babe ! lol !
Point I was tring to make was if grain give it a skake to spread the myc ! Temp range is important , if dropping below 80 , definetly will slow the growth , I'm assuming this guy got his mix right , but yes a lack of moisture also would retard growth , ther are a lot of variables to consider but more often than not people do not realize temp swings are their problem ! If cakes ..........wait be patient give it some more time , the density of a cake can slow things down also . Then yes , next step would be to ask about gas exchange , did you crack lids , or use med tape to seal holes . I hope I was helpful , rather short seeing how got no response from original poster .

Is stalling not mainly due to air exchange? How much substrate is still showing and if you got a glove box or some thing try opening the lid for a sec on 1 or 2 and see if they restart if they do do the same to the others good luck

i have got some inoculated grains10 days ago. .they are nearly contaminated.and then i took them out from the jars.i washed them again and pc it. .i know that i shouldn t do this also..4 of them are contaminated again.just one of them is not contaminated yet. it really colonizes very slow. nearly no nutrients in the grain. i will see what will going on in a few days.

These are 1/2 pint pf jars. Lids loose no tape on innoc holes, the temp is 84 degrees all day long. BRF/Verm/water. I followed Anno's PF tek for the simple mind, and mixed em all up at once instead of individually.

Ah the seeker of knowledge finally has time to be in his own post . Cover them holes with a filter or plain old 3M medical tape the kind that looks like cloth , that breaths , invert the jars also , you want to slow down any nasties from getting in them openings , then give it some more time , they may just be a little shy . Good Luck "IF" you decide they are failures , plug them in the ground outside ......who knows they might like it better . I hear cakes can easily take a month to be ready for birth , so 17 days is a little over half way there . Patience Blade !

LSD, Just flip the jars over, tap them as if your going to birth it but keep the lid on, let them incubate upside-down, youll probably see growth continue within 24 hours. Hope this help
