 What accent do you hate the most?

And why?
I personally love imitating all of them. I'm quite good at most. Especially scottish.
But if I had to pick one that I'd love to never hear again, it would be the typical southern accent. People who sound like Larry the cable guy all the time even when they're not using it for comedic value, make me want to light things on fire.

Welch. Their english doesn't sound like english to me.
ps. I love the southern american drawl, but i am from new zealand.

Agreed Southern women can sound sexy though, what really grinds my gears are those cockney accents, makes me want to drive off a cliff!

The Indian(dot) accent is the most annoying thing. But I think it is a combination of the accent and Hindi. I love the African accent. Uganda and Nigeria, for example.

What the fuck is wrong with everyone in this thread?
The chinese accent is the most grating on the ears BY FAR. I'd rather listen to any of the others ten times over.
EDIT: And just to be clear, I'm saying even compared to other asian accents. Thai is a hilarious accent, same goes for cambodian, hmong, etc. All sound like elmer fudd. Japanese, korean, all are infinitely better than chinese accent.

I love all accents but I have a problem with those where I can't make out what they're saying. Its mutually embarrassing to have to keep asking people to rephrase them, it makes me come across as annoying and has them feeling inept.
I agree with an earlier poster, many African accents can sound great, especially from Swahili , Yoruba or Zulu to English, and of course French to English can be completely adorable, especially when they're upset

I was in washington a while ago and I was throwing a football around and it happened to fly in a bush..
Some lasy drives by ansd stops..rolls down her window and yells..
"YA KNOW THURS A FIEN FUR LITTERAN"
me... "It's a fucking football..fuck off"
and she just rolled up her window slowly and drove away.

I'd have to say that in regards to chinese accents, I don't mind them at all untill they start to yell, then it's annoying as hell. On the other hand, indian accents only annoy me when they are being quiet. For instance, I was in the gas station and I handed the cashier my card and he said, barely above a whisper: "kdideet o dibeet" I had to lean closer and ask him to repeat himself twice before I translated to "credit or debit"
I tend to enjoy any accent from the UK. then again I don't have to regularly deal with hobos asking for heroine money from those areas.
Love african accents, LOVE jamaican accents.

I hate when people come to me at work and have very heavy accents and I can't understand a word they say and I have to ask them over and over what the fuck they are trying to say to me.
