Hemp cutting successful!
    #12783091 - 06/22/10 05:53 AM (13 years, 8 months ago)

It's my first time growing and I have just one hemp plant. In order to have more live specimens to experiment with, I tried taking a few cuttings and all 3 of them seem to be sprouting roots!

Here are the pics. I'm so proud!!! :-)

They cuttings are living in an unheated propagator on a well lit window-sill, with the light filtered by a thin white cloth (and the fly-net on the window provides some additional filtering).

I used to spray them every day with pH corrected water. Now I have 2 questions:

1) I'm going to be out for 3 days. Will they survive under the dome without additional spraying? Several loph seedlings are doing just fine and they haven't nearly been sprayed at all.

2) How long until I can pot the cuttings? Any advice/hints/caveats about that?

1) yeah, they'll be fine so long as the humidity stays high.

2) Wait until you can see some roots sticking out the side of the rockwool.

Do I see big white roots at the base??
I bet they are out the bottom already. Roots outgrow pots/rockwool cubes in days.
Cuttings only need mist the first 3 days after being torn from mommy. Dome is no longer needed.

Plant into something bigger ASAP. If you are going soil then use a 22 oz plastic cup with holes in the bottom and moistened pro mix/jiffy mix soil.

Should be good for a week.
