I haven't completely forsaken it, nevertheless it seems kind of pointless.
Do you think you would be worse off if you were to completely abondon socializing ?

Yes unless you get a dog or horse or cat etc. I don't care for humans much but I do just a little lite socializing, mostly walking my dog and with a very few close friends. I can go days without seeing anyone. But remember we are social animals and imo need contact, mental and physical.

I personally haven't placed too many things in government control, actually, and it isn't as if I could abandon something I was never doing in the first place.

it would be horrible to have no social interaction at all. im usually sociable but i like not being sociable sometimes

I can find peace in solitude.
I don't consider interacting and the sharing of idea's synonomous with socializing.

Who cares if it's a disorder as long as you're having a good time whatever you're doing now. If I could isolate myself and feel satisfaction then I'd do it.

Like: "high, my name is john, i have 3 kids and outstanding mortgage, my wife's cheating on me."
Worthless information about the people, community, clubs, etc . .
What does it really matter what this guys name is?
Do you really need to be a part of the nonsensical information that people call drama?
That's what socializing really is. Other opinion's of trivial matters.

I like socializing with humans, but most of them like drama. It's annoying as fuck sometimes. I prefer to lay on my couch and give my dog that look that makes her go nuts for my approval as her superior.

If I have no social contact whatsoever I get very depressed. The trick is in finding intelligent friends with similar interests; that way you're not bored to tears from mind-numbing small talk. Either that or you can always get drunk enough so that small talk becomes fun.

I like being social, but I have been sick for over a year and get to anxious to even leave the house or even have friends over, I'd love to socialize!

It matters a lot if a car is about to hit him and he's not paying attention and you are. Among many other reasons I could come up with. Noting wrong with social intercourse unless that's the extent of the conversation.

I agree with all of you. When i was a kid i dreamed of being a lighthouse keeper on some remote island. I love solitude but i can't do without people altogether. I need them and the truth is I love them.. But part of me seems to resent that. I find myself pushing people away and then wishing they'd come back. Ain't life a kick in the head?
