popping from speakers when fans turn off.
    #12813890 - 06/27/10 08:03 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

I am getting a popping from my speakers when a fan turns off. Its not a nice, expensive setup. Just really nice Logitech 5.1 Computer speakers.  The pop occurs whenever a fan turns off. be it my bedroom fan, bathroom, living room, or AC. Is there any filter, either for the line in or the ac power that will stop this?

It's electromagnetic interference, nothing to do with the power grid. Try hooking up the speakers through optical (fibre optical) or digital (COAX) connection.
