mazapatec strain question

Has anyone grown with the mazpatec strain and if so is there any thing that has to be done differently to get them to grow. Ive must of ruined about 10 perfectly good (fully colinized with rye grain) jars. They were pretty and white then I tried fruiting and absolutly nothing happened for 3 weeks. Not one pin, nothing. my casing layer was just vermic. and I realize now that i should have mixed it with something else but i figure i would have seen something. I grew the jars with a tyvek lid in the dark at 85 degrees and then fruited them at 75 with a 12 on and 12 off light cycle. Im going to try other strains now because I cant figure this one out. I still have 24 jars of the mazapatec that are going to be fully colonized in about a week so I would like to save them from my own destuction if possible. Can someone help me!!!

I'll buy those jars off you as long as they are not contaminated.

All Cubies can fruit around 75, Mostly everything else like Cyans fruit at much lower temps.

hmm. Maza's are usually easy to fruit. There my fav trip wise so it's a shame u've had no success. If your not having contam problems i don't se why they wouldn't pin. They like high temps~

If your making rye jars case them. If they are rice jars try and fruit some pf style. You can also trying give a few cakes a dunk overnight in cold water. Some times this can help pinning.
There should be no reason it doesnt pin. A cubensis strain is a cubensis strain, not much difference in any of them.

That's a bummer. The Mazatepec gods seem to love me. I've seen them colonize and fruit faster than Cambodians and Brazilians, all they need is a little love.
The best advice I can give you is let them get so colonized in the jars that the mycelium starts attaching on to the sides of the jars then case them, make sure the mushrooms are screaming to get out. Just using verm shouldn't matter, IME it all has to do with the spores you start with and the character of the mycelium. Sometimes all you have to do is wait... A LONG TIME. One day you will wake up and you will see growth.
Also you said you didn't get pins, but was there any growth at all?
If there was no growth you casing layers may have been too wet or too dry.
-------------------- Mushroom spores can survive space travel... imagine the possibilities.

i have recently grown mazapatec. it's a wonderful mush. i used the BRF tek as done by RR. it's not difficult at all, you should FAE and mist. and of course, you need lots of patience.
