Okay, I've got 4 ARCTIC JACK plants in my room, I've never heard of the strain before but anyway, they have just grown out their second set of leaves (not counting the not-jagged ones... (coli...whatever)) and they are standing under a 500 Watt Hallogen lamp and in nice soil, including all nutritiants except Nitrogen (I'll fix that later)... for 2 weeks they were looking REALLY good under a 60 WATT LIGHT!  Now all of a sudden the leaves are hanging and looking bad :frown:, man cannabis is so demanding and stressing, I cant tell if they havent gotten TOO MUCH water or TOO LITTLE water, too much light or too little light, really stressing... :mad:
Mushrooms, my first jars are all colonized (except one) and ALL    I    FUCKING    NEEED  IS    VERMICULIIIIITE!!!!!!!! :crazy:  But if I get that, then thats all I need right?  Its that easy, in my opinion.  Plus there are so many more things that can make a LARGE variation in the potency of cannabis, shrooms dont vary so much in potency within the same strain.

Shrooms are easier to pass off  as nothing of concern to most laymen hehe

Now pot You gotta hide that stuff and worry about smell when budding. Growing pot makes you parronoid. 

Once my cable dude came over and my woman left my timer out in view  with cord leading into the closet to all my 30 or so seedlings.  The dude had to leave suddanly. When I heard this I freeked N Pulled em all out n flushed em down the can :frown:  Better safe then sorrry

Many points have been put forth and I think we'll never reach an implicit resolution.  However I offer up this compromise.

To some degree they are both tough to grow for starters.  Taking into account everything you have to worry about.  But you're comparing apples to oranges, sure.. they're both fruit but of a completely different nature.

Both of them become more complex when you try to optimise your setup.  Generally I guess when you optimise weed its about potency and quantity whereas mushrooms are mostly yield related because we're not really anywhere into increasing the potency yet. 

Its a bit ridiculous to "measure" the amount of "trouble" that it takes to produce the finished products :smile:

Assumably they are both fun to grow.. have a survey on which one people enjoy growing the most :smile:

I heard growing cannabis makes the whole vicinity it is in smell like weed, which makes me think growing mushrooms would be easier/safer.

Halogen lights are hopeless for growing weed, get rid of it. They produce a lot of heat and little light for their wattage.

hmmm. . Im in the minority, I said growing weed.
The reasons bieng that I grew outside on
about 5 occasions and indoors only once, for some reason I found outdoor far easier.

Growing mushrooms wasnt "hard" really, but out of three occasions one utterly failed due too contamination.

With shrooms you have no lights to deal with indoors, no odor control, no real ventilation, no heat buildup, etcetera. Outdoors pot is easy grow with minimal care as long as no one finds it or steals it. Shrooms are a breeze to conceal, you can grow them in a shoebox under the bed, try doing that with some mj.

BTW you said your poll was for where it was legal. If they were it wouldn't be a concern to grow either.

...when it comes that you eat a divine mushroom and have a wonderful experience of a lifetime, then you make some gr8 thoughts that this was a product of lots of effort and trial. You feel special, as if Xochipilli saw that you really love cultivation and he decided to offer you the gift of success and his blessing for your trip.

Nothing can be compared to that.
mj cultivation is just not the same...

Weed is weed and freedom is all it need.
A shroom is a shroom and likes a little room.

So far with words of wisdom.

Holland, valentines day, 2003. Outside it is freezing 9 degrees. For me to cold to enjoy at this time of the day. It is almost 20 Februari, an other day. No new day, all days seem alike. All limited by 24 hrs. Last 24 hours were fun.

I saw this post and had to reply and vote ofcoarse. I voted for Cannabis Sativa :laugh:

my 2 cents, from a few crops of each:

any fool can grow pot, but only an expert can grow it to perfection.
and any fool can grow mushrooms (especially from a kit) but again, consistently plentiful large fruits are an art form.

i've done both, and for me it's no comparison: no smell, no light, smaller space, less messy..... mycoculture roolz :grin:

Of course, if it is a fair weather season, I would say that pot is easier to grow what with the free light and moisture provided from the great outdoors. There is more initial work to grow plants for my imaginary friend but once they get outside then they work with nature and do their thing. I suppose you can do an outdoor tek but I have yet to "imagine" doing it. Either way, I'm in love with both.

I've grown outdoors and if you think you can just put a seed in the ground and it comes up killer you have never grown, ever.   I've also seen the indoor thing done you might say           I've also seen  a few mushrooms done.
        Shrooms are way way way easier to grow, and to hide. Listen to Shirley, Mycoculture Roolz :grin:

Oh my holy fuck!
What strain of weed is that?  And that bush outside, where in the world did you grow that?  I wish I lived in a place that had perfect Cannabis climate, outdoor weed growing looks so much funner (and cheaper, he :tongue:)

It has struck me and it will continue to strike me, how can a beautiful plant like that be elegal..........!

Wow :laugh:.  Where did you grow those outdoors?  I'm not asking for specific location ofcourse... :smirk:
My Arctic Jacks are growing thick and good under a halogen lamp, I know its not as good as HID's, but I'm planning on getting one of those when I have enough money.  When it starts to get hot in spring time I'll grow some outdoors in the forest here in Norway.  Its freezing cold in winter but I'm going to try to build some green house thing for them.  Do you know about any strains that can tolerate cold climate aswell?
