of course... we cant possibly know the details unless our transparent
government releases the unaltered videos, our secretary of state
apologized for the 25 or more civilians killed in the bombings of these
'empty compounds' but for some reason the body count is claimed at more
than 5 times that number by the locals

really? I guess whistleblower doesnt have the same meaning up in the
lands north of the mason dixon, I guess they're supposed to ask
permission to disclose damning information

firstly, it's not a one or the other, it's 260k documents and numerous
videos and under USC 10 there is protected communications for members of
congress and inspector generals by military personnel, also included is
that there's prohibhition for reprisal when that data is also sent to
others like the NY Times or other media outlets

There are channels for that.  There is, however, one person who we know 100% violated the law.

and sometimes no action is taken, sometimes the channels are in

release it

What transparent government?  Do you think everything should be disclosed?  How dumb.  It's war.  The enemy hides among civilians.  Shit happens.  Also the enemy has learned that inflating civilian casualty numbers is good press.  I don't believe a word they say.  And, of course, Garani has nothing to do with the gloriously successful destruction of the murderers by helicopter in Iraq and the State Dept files.

Unauthorized peckerheads are not to make decisions about what is and is not classified.  That's it.

You flip between talking about Iraq helicopter attack, video of which was classified and showed no improper acts, Galani video, which I don't believe has been released by anyone and the State Department files, which are secret documents stolen by the asshole and which have also not been released.  If he wants to take it to members of Congress then he can do so.  He may not give it to some asshole who runs a website.

He'll get his day in court.  That's what due process means.

Is Bernie Madoff innocent because the SEC was supposed to do a better job of checking him?

so civilians are the enemy? seems that the US has determined that
deflating the numbers makes great press too, 25 or more sounds much
better than 'we killed 140 civilians to eradicate 6 members of the
taliban', it's all so reminiscent of viet nam

lol... the flipping is all in your head, all these documents and videos
are part of the same great leak, are we to now believe that congress
works for us when it comes to exposing the corruption they're a part of?
seems the most effective way to alert the public to the improprieties of
government isnt to tell government that they're doing bad things, it's
to alert the public as to what their representatives are doing

Well it's interesting that some here vilify govt until it comes to protecting our interests abroad. Then whatever they do seems just dandy.

I don't trust any of it. And I'd consider myself a fool or invested if I did.

it's the shuck and jive, they use everything as a distraction from what's
really happening which is we're all getting screwed, the war distracts us
from what's happening here, border conflicts, crime, corruption,
incompetence,  shit legislation and legislators, then suddenly we have a
crisis here to distract us from the civilian casualties, misconduct and crap

Which, apparently, is the time warp you are stuck in.  And where did I say that civilians were the enemy (although many quite clearly are)?  I am saying that there are lying liars who inflate and manufacture civilian casualty claims to manipulate weak minded jackasses into supporting a bunch of murdering fucks who would otherwise have no chance of prevailing.  Does that remind you of 'Nam, too?  Because it damn well should.

You keep babbling this but never address the issue of what is the difference between a whistleblower and a treasonous spy.  Or do you think that there should be no secrets?  Because that is beyond stupid.

All the same leak?  Hardly.  3 entirely unrelated things connected only by the fact that they were all committed by one treasonous asshole.

You seem to think Congress is some monolithic organization with every member marching together.  Which may well be the tip top dumb you have expressed in this thread.

So far the only actual leak of anything presented to the public is the Iraq helicopter attack, which was 100% legit.

Are you really really advocating that anybody who disagrees with US policy has a right to reveal any state secret he decides is indicative of an impropriety?  For once, answer a direct question.
