Restricted Caller?
    #12781995 - 06/21/10 11:10 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

So my friend was telling me about something that happened to him. He was hanging out at his place decently late at night, and he gets a call on his cell from Restricted. Right when he answers, they hang up. Now he's sketched. I don't know much, but he might be involved in dealing plants which are illegal... He wants to know if it is ever the strategy of authority to call from a restricted number, get you to answer, and hang up? Should he be worrying?

Mostly its just people trying to piss your friend(or you, lol) off.

If it is the 5-0 they would call you and start a conversation, usually saying that one of your contacts gave him your number, And they will ask about your "Product".

Now i ask, did the person kept calling over and over? Or was just a single once or twice ?
I don't think they would be calling you repeatedly, They might of call once or twice to see if that number is active, meaning of the dealer actually picks up their phone.

My advice is stop sparkin' that dro while you try to slang, paranoia takes over once on the job, lol.

all cops cell phones come up as restricted, unless they dont block it.

could be something, could be nothing.

why answer any phone call that is "blocked" or "restricted"? I don't answer shit unless I know who it is... if it's important, they will leave a voicemail message. I have had that same crap happen and all it did was make me nervous. Just don't answer calls like that.

If its only happened one time, I wouldn't worry. Don't pick up the restricted calls. I'd also probably not answer any random calls from unrecognized numbers either.

Some friends years back accidentally let their numbers fall into the hands of a narc. They were relentless, calling 20x a day. Four or five times in a row. I have a feeling that they'd be trying to contact your friend more than once as well

Ditto.

Look into it. I can't remember if its free or cost. Think it comes with caller ID. But your telco may be different.

Guess you have some super duper phone then. Mine came with my caller ID, but you have to enable it with some special *code.

You would think that would be a bad police practice if you wanted to catch drug dealers. It would not take me very long to get rid of my stash, and then the calls from police would be somewhat entertaining to me.

A cop here was crank calling us once because we made fun of him for a corrupt little fat girl - that's exactly what happens. Restricted call/pause/hang up.
I called the police station back and asked what they wanted....I guess he thought we wouldn't know...but know.. or some stupid corn hole boss hogg bullshit?
